Frontier Airlines will launch ‘ultra-low-cost’ seasonal flights between Boston and Philly

Frontier Airlines is expanding its service at Philadelphia International Airport this spring by adding nonstop seasonal routes between three U.S. cities, including Boston, the airline recently announced[1].

The Denver-based low-fare carrier is adding routes between Philadelphia and Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

“Frontier will now offer the only nonstop ultra-low-cost flights to Boston and Chicago from [Philadelphia International Airport] and daily flights to Los Angeles,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial for Frontier Airlines, in a press release.

The service between Boston and Philadelphia begins May 1 and will operate daily, according to the airline. The cost of airfare from Boston to Philadelphia during the first week of service is as low as $115 roundtrip, available midweek, as of this article’s publication.

“Over the last two years, Frontier has added or increased seasonal and year-round nonstop service from [Philadelphia International Airport] to destinations popular with both tourists and business travelers,” said Philadelphia International Airport CEO Chellie Cameron in a press release. “We are excited that Frontier is continuing this trend by adding Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston flights to their [Philadelphia International Airport] schedule. Passengers, businesses, and our regional economy benefit when our airline partners offer more flights to more cities.”

When the new routes begin, Frontier will offer a total of 24 nonstop options from Philadelphia, according to the airline.
